Handcrafted in Japan, the MD970 offers amazing sound projection through the use of 970‰ silver.
A tradition of innovation. Pearl's handcrafted manufacturing process has a long tradition. From student models to professional examples, each instrument must accompany each stage of a flutist's career. To ensure this quality over time, the Japanese firm has initiated a unique apprenticeship programme at its factory in Chiba, Japan, so that experienced craftsmen can share their skills with new generations of workers.
Silver flutes, handcrafted with the greatest care. The Maesta series is a historical reference in the world of Japanese flutes made entirely by hand. These 970‰ silver flutes, equipped with soldered or drawn chimneys, guarantee a breathtaking sound projection.
One-Piece Core-Bar, a mechanical innovation. The One-Piece Core-Bar manufacturing system, present on all the brand's flutes, eliminates the recurring problems of other manufacturers' models that lack it. Pearl has designed a rod that runs through the key shafts from high C to F#, making the tuning machines more reliable and comfortable, for greater durability and less maintenance.
Pinless Construction. All Pearl flutes are built using the Japanese brand's patented Pinless construction. When combined with the mechanics, this system eliminates one of the problems encountered by traditional makers: the small needles that catch on clothing and encourage the infiltration of perspiration and skin acidity. This can damage the instrument by causing corrosion and stiffness of the keys. This inconvenience has been eliminated by inserting pin screws under the mechanics, thus eliminating the need for traditional screws.
