The Rakatak is a percussion instrument originally from West Africa; more specifically from Ghana. It is made of several calabash rings attached to a narrow wooden rod and then joined to another piece of thicker wood (the handle) The sound is produced simply by holding the Rakatak by the handle and rocking back and forth or in an up and down movement. Sold in pairs. - Made in Africa
