The WA-84 is a small-diaphragm condenser microphone that draws inspiration from classic circuits by integrating a Cinemag USA transformer, Fairchild transistors and Wima capacitors, with the addition of a fully discrete signal path . The WA-84 is designed for use in studio, home studio, live, broadcast and will beautifully reproduce a variety of instruments such as: guitars and basses, drums, pianos, strings, brass.
The use of a Cinemag nickel transformer gives the WA-84 unique warmth and allows the sound sources to be expanded. Manufacturers of small diaphragm microphones have gradually stopped using transformers in recent years for reasons of cost and ease. For the design of the WA-84, Warm Audio did not take the easy route and opted to use the classic method, tackling a more boutique design, recognized for its crystalline and soft sound.
