Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom '68 Telecaster® NOS
The "Summer of Love" and "Flower Power" movements of 1967 influenced fashion worldwide, and Fender followed suit with its new Blue Flower and Paisley Telecasters. Curiously, these guitars became more popular with rockabilly and country-western players (they were adopted by Tele master James Burton) than with the flower children who inspired them. These guitars have earned a special place in Fender history, and the Fender Custom Shop Vintage Custom 1968 Blue Flower and Paisley Tele models are faithful recreations of these original instruments. The two-piece body in selected alder has a NOS lacquer finish with a WLS undercoat in the famous Paisley or Blue Flower pattern. The curly maple neck has a 60s-style "oval C" profile, topped by a round curly maple fingerboard with an 18 cm - 24 cm radius and 21 vintage medium frets for a comfortable feel from top to bottom. The hand-wound Tele 67 pickups are true to the exact specifications of that year, with a three-way switch and modern Tele wiring. Other specifications include an eight-hole clear polyurethane pickguard, Tele 67 bridge with threaded steel saddles, Schaller® "F" tuners, bone saddle and wing-shaped string pattern. Deluxe case, strap and certificate of authenticity included.
