G&L Fullerton Deluxe Comanche Electric Guitar
The 2020 Fullerton Deluxe Comanche features some of the most traditional option combinations in the G&L options ordering menu. All FD Comanche guitars feature ash and alder bodies, with pairs of pickgards ideal for highlighting the colours. This elegance continues on the neck with the G&L Clear Tint Satin finish.
You'll find plenty of power in the Z-coil pickups, but what's surprising is how glassy and detailed they become when you turn down the volume and bass controls, the latter being part of the Comanche's PTB? (Passive Treble and Bass)* system. In addition, the Comanche features a mini Expander** toggle switch that allows you to use neck + bridge pickups or all three pickups together. If needed, the neck+bridge combo allows for a convincing fake ASAT® Special. Talk about versatility!
To make the most of this delightful combo, Leo designed the Dual-Fulcrum vibrato, an engineering work of art that allows you to bend up or down with unparalleled stability, while providing a silky smooth feel thanks to its aluminum vibrato arm.
The Comanche was the very last double cutaway guitar designed by Leo Fender, the culmination of everything he had learned in his incredible life. Founded by Leo Fender in 1980, the Comanche and all G&L USA instruments continue to be made in G&L's historic factory on Fender Avenue in Fullerton, California, the birthplace of the Bolt-on?.
Passive Treble and Bass Controls: much more efficient than a standard tone control, treble and bass frequencies can be cut separately with this exclusive passive-style circuit via two separate tone knobs.
Expansion Switch: A mini toggle switch (push/pull button on the Tribute Series) allows two additional mics to be selected when used with the five-position switch. The switch is activated when it is thrown towards the mics (button pulled UP on the Tribute). With the five-way switch set to either end, a selection of the bridge and neck pickups is available. All three pickups can be selected when the bridge pickup coupled to the neck pickup or the neck pickup coupled to the neck pickup is selected with the five-way switch.
